Now, at age 16, they are running in directions we never would have imagined, but we’re thrilled to watch it unfold.

Our Favorite Post in 2013: Ballon Fiesta Inspiration
I’ve always been the type of traveler to plan out my trips months in advance. But we’re entering 2014 with trips of possibilities instead of certainty. Maybe we’ll find ourselves checking out the food, wine and beer scene in beautiful Traverse City, Mich., followed by an adventure exploring Alaska in the summer sun. A possible fall trip could find us in the Greek isles. I hear it’s very affordable to visit Greece in October. Those are all possibilities. I can say with certainty that we have an NBA road trip series in the works. The first stop will be Atlanta, with visits to New Orleans and Chicago also in the works. Our son is a huge NBA fan, so we’re going to see what these cities have to offer families, all centered on attending an NBA game. Oh, and we’ve promised him a visit to New York, so the Big Apple could be added to the NBA series.

In 2014 I’m very excited about a Ski trip to Copper Mtn. CO. I love to ski, but have never skied anywhere but the east coast, so this should be a real treat. I’m also trying to figure out how to spend an extended vacation in DC, but that’s still just on my wish list right now. Hope you guys have a great New Year!

Our Favorite Post of 2013: My Housesitting Guide
We don’t know where all we’ll be going in 2014, but right now the two big plans we have are spending a month in Paris in the spring, and we have a housesit in Ireland that I am quite excited about. We may be heading back into Africa for a bit as well, but we’ll have to see how that plays out.

Our Favorite Post for 2013: How we Balance Work, Family, & Travel
We are really excited to take the boys to some awesome destinations in 2014. Our first trip has us starting the year in Sun Peaks, British Columbia for a weekend in the snow, then we are off to Phoenix for sun and time in the pool. In early summer, we hop on the train to experience VIA Rail from Vancouver to Jasper where we then will get to explore the province of Alberta. In late summer we are heading to Newfoundland to experience East Coast hospitality and those are just our confirmed trips. 2014 is going to be a fun year of travel for our family.
