As we kick off another awesome year, we wanted to share with you some of our favorite travel bloggers that we enjoy following and our favorite posts from them in 2013. Making memories as they explore the world together, here are some of our Top Couples Travel Blogs. We also asked them to share with us what they are looking forward to most in 2014. Be sure to check them out!

Our Favorite Post in 2013: Kilimanjaro the Best and the Rest
Until May 2014 we are working like crazy to save the funds for 6 months of travel! That being said, working next to the beach in Florida isn’t a horrible situation to be in! We hit Central and South America in May/June and can’t wait to take in Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Brazil; we hope to sabotage our cruise ship once in the Galapagos islands so we can become stranded there forever! Hitting Australia, South Africa and Ireland after Central and South America before heading back to the United States to figure out our next big adventure!
1000 Places to Fight Before You Die
Our Favorite Post in 2013: 7 Couple Travel Profiles: Which One are You?
What are our plans for 2014? More Fighting! We hope. We are working on a spring trip to Bali, Borneo and Darwin, Australia. Why Australia you ask? Mike wants his sixth continent. This summer we are planning a glamping trip to the Pahsimeroi in Idaho (Mike’s idea of fun…not mine.). In the fall, we are planning a family trip to Tahoe. Finally this fall we are thinking Hawaii for Mike’s big 4-0 birthday. We are still in the planning stages so if you have been to any of these places…PLEASE email us with ideas! Come along for the ride with the Fighting Couple!
Living The Dream RTW
Our Favorite Post in 2013: A List Destinations with a Difference
As we ring in 2014 we’ll be starting the second half of our RTW trip that we were planning to be 14-18 months. So far we have a LOT planned for the first few months of the year. First we’ll be ringing in the new year on the beach in India and spending a few more weeks in the country. After that we have a stopover planned in Mauritius before heading to Africa for a 3-week tour that begins in late January. Then we’re beginning our Americas tour in Buenos Aires before heading south to possibly go to Antarctica, and from there it is North all the way overland until home somewhere between September and December!
The Wondernuts
Our Favorite Post in 2013: Ever Seen a Grown Man Act Like a Kid?
So far in 2014, we have the first six months planned and we’re traveling just about every month. We’re most excited for Turkey! Can’t wait to try authentic Turkish coffee!
Beers and Beans
Our Favorite Posts in 2013: Under the Porticos of Bologna
It looks like we’re going to be heading to Jordan in 2014 and we are really excited about the trip. It’s a destination that has been on our radar for sometime and we can’t wait to explore the region and see what kind of stories we can find.
Enjoy the Journey
Our Favorite Post in 2013: Scuba Diving – Our Favorite Locations so far…
It’s hard to say exactly what 2014 will entail for us, we never know what we’re doing from one month to the next. Our mission for January is to complete our dive master in Indonesia, the number one ranking place in terms of underwater biodiversity, and perfect our underwater photography skills. No doubt there’ll be a few parties, adventures and hiccups along the way! Having spent the last few months learning to surf we’re almost ready to take it to the next level. The day we ‘hang ten’ or carve through a wave will be a good day, and one we hope to achieve in 2014! Happy New Year!!!
Ordinary Traveler
Our Favorite Post in 2013: See What Your are Missing in Southeast Alaska
I have a feeling 2014 is going to be a busy year of travel, but we both wouldn’t mind spending a little more time enjoying our home in San Diego than we did in 2013. So far we have a few tropical islands on the agenda and a trip to Key West for snorkeling, hang-gliding and volunteering with scientists to help restore threatened coral species.
Green Global Travel
Our Favorite Post in 2013: Top 5 Eco Attractions in Bosnia & Herzegovina
Our big plans for 2014 will be an extension of the work we’re already doing with Green Global Travel, Green Travel Reviews and EcoAdventure Media. We’re currently laying the groundwork for a non-profit charity foundation that will work to fund small scale, grassroots ecotourism and conservation initiatives in developing nations around the world. Our goal is to ensure that every trip we take in the future has a tangible positive impact on the local community economy and/or ecosystem, living up to our tagline of “Saving the World One Story at a Time.”
Turtles Travel
Our Favorite Post in 2013: Don’t Skip: St. Kitts
We are notoriously poor planners. Whether it’s a problem with commitment or just procrastination, we’re not sure, but we honestly do not have a single thing set for 2014. Our mobile marketing tour contract ended December 22, and we are now pleasantly unemployed and homeless once more after 8 months of criss-crossing the US for work. We’ll spend January catching up with family and friends in Cape Cod and Atlanta. After that, we’ve toyed with the idea of finding a first house-sitting gig or spending some time in Central America. We’d love to do both, and give Donny a chance to take his Spanish to the next level. We also have our heart set on more trips that would include ancestry research, perhaps this time to Ireland? Come what may, it will be an adventure, and we look forward to sharing it on Turtles Travel. Happy New Year!”
Latitude 34 Travel Blog
Our Favorite Post in 2013: Rome vs. Paris
We are taking off mid January for Ireland followed by a 3-4 month trek across Europe, through the Middle East and India before arriving back in Thailand before the summer. We then hope to explore more of SE Asia before hoping to spend the holidays in New Zealand and New Years 2014 in Australia. Who knows how this year will shape up but we are excited to find out!

Big 2014! After 20 years in my lovely old home (Gordon has been here 11 of them), we are moving to an apartment on the beach. This was decided a week before Christmas (not real clever but …) so we now are packing up, will sell our home and move and all of this before we go away on February 14th, Valentine’s Day. Our house looks like a disaster zone as I take some time out between culling and packing to write this. I am sad and happy all at once. It is something we had been thinking about and as Gordon’s work precludes us from going to live on a houseboat in Amsterdam, the beach was the choice and the apartment right for us. To recover from my nervous breakdown, we head to our other home away from home, in Nozawa Onsen, Japan, then Switzerland and Austria for a 6 week skiing holiday. We are lucky that 75% of it is already organized. We then come home in April to we don’t know where, as we may still have 2 places. What does Gordon always say to me? “Serendipity”, what happens, happens. In August and September we are going to London and France, which will be amazing. We are looking forward to the ‘sea change’ though it is tinged with sadness and lots of memories, but excitement too. Travelling will be just as fantastic as per usual.
Traveling 9 to 5
Our Favorite Post in 2013: What do you mean by “Just Go”?
We are kicking off 2014 exploring the Caribbean and enjoying some much needed relaxation and sunshine. Stay tune, we will be making a BIG announcement about our next big adventure at the end of January. This year promises to be full of first time experiences and new ventures!

Great list! I have just now opened up several of them to look in to a little deeper. My bf and I just started out blogging, mostly local New England trips, and I am addicted! I’d love a few pointers if you pop in to our blog.
We are not big on planning. We usually have a loose plan and then are off and running on a weekend filled with enough destinations to make anyone’s head spin. Love the adrenaline, the adventure, and being together!
Anyway, thanks again for your post!
Thanks for the comment! Yeah, it can be a lot of fun. We really enjoy documenting our adventures together, for both ourselves and our readers. Write about what you love – and your enthusiasm will shine through!
