Callaway Gardens is an awesome getaway a short drive from Atlanta, Georgia. It is the perfect place to escape the hustle of the big city and to kick back and enjoy nature. Callaway Gardens is not just a nature preserve, but also a resort with a wide variety of activities for the young and old. From the thrilling treetop adventure obstacle course and zip lines, to the hiking and biking trails, fishing and boating, swimming, Geocaching, or nature watching, there is so many things to do at Callaway Gardens! With so much to do, it is most convenient to stay onsite at one of their hotels. Our favorite hotel that we have stayed in is the Mountain Creek Inn at Callaway Gardens.
The Mountain Creek Inn, Callaway Gardens
The Mountain Creek Inn is conveniently located right across the street from the gardens entrance. The hotel was recently renovated back in the Spring of 2013. We have stayed at the Inn both before and after the renovation, and we were impressed with the renovation! The hotel has incorporated contemporary design styles without losing touch with nature. We have always found the service to be quite good at the Mountain Creek Inn and thoroughly enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.
Facilities at the Mountain Creek Inn
The hotel has a swimming pool as well as a fitness center, and a variety of garden areas to relax. Two restaurants are on property, one of which is a buffet. We recently visited over a Saturday night and dined at their Southern Buffet. The food was fantastic, and even Josh (who is from the area) was impressed! Free wi-fi is available throughout the hotel, and their are a number of meeting rooms available for events on-site. Another perk to staying on-site at Callaway Gardens is that entrance to the gardens are included, which makes for a great value overall.
Rooms at the Mountain Creek Inn
The rooms at the Mountain Creek Inn are beautifully decorated with a contemporary design that incorporates natural colors and materials. From the calming green walls to the rustic wooden headboards, we found the rooms to be very relaxing. The carpet, curtains, and linens are new and luxurious, and the bathroom was well appointed with quality fixtures and a wonderful shower!
There are four different room views to choose from at the Mountain Creek Inn. The non-few rooms are affordable options with easy access to your parked vehicle. The courtyard view offers views of trees and flowers, while also providing easy access to the lobby, restaurants, and seating areas outside. There are also pool view rooms, and garden view rooms. We were very happy to get a garden view room!
Looking out over a large grassy lawn toward the golf course and lake, it was a beautiful place to sit and watch the sunset at night. In fact, we noticed a number of people relaxing out on the grass to watch the sunset. Another perk is that the windows are huge! So when the evening bugs were getting to us on the balcony, we were able to come inside the room, open the drapes, and lay on the bed while watching darkness fall. Those large picture windows are a wonderful feature!
We Recommend Staying at the Mountain Creek Inn
For relaxation, comfort, and quality, you can’t go wrong with staying at the Mountain Creek Inn at Callaway Gardens. It is great to stay so close to the gardens, and be able to purchase your package all together. We also enjoy the rooms, amenities, service, and food on property. For a weekend getaway, this hotel has everything you need. And we have always had a great time while staying there.

Love it! Thanks for the comment Sara. Yeah, we enjoy stopping by Callaway Gardens from time to time, because Josh actually grew up not far from the park. Although it had been a couple years since we stayed onsite at the hotel. Great renovation they did – we really enjoyed it.
